Guinness celebrates St. Patrick’s season across 40 bars nationwide

Guinness brings St. Patrick’s spirit to Malaysia with nationwide pub celebrations, promotions, and its “Double the Guinness” pouring challenge.

The spirit of Ireland has arrived in Malaysia as Guinness launches its annual St. Patrick’s celebration across more than 40 bars and pubs nationwide, inviting stout enthusiasts to gather and celebrate the globally recognised occasion.

The festivities officially kicked off at The Square at Jaya One, where crowds were treated to a lively Irish parade featuring bagpipers and drummers. The vibrant opening event marked the start of a month-long series of celebrations that will unfold across participating outlets throughout Malaysia.

For more than 260 years, Guinness has been intertwined with St. Patrick’s Day celebrations around the world. The iconic stout, known for its deep ruby body and smooth, creamy head, has long served as a symbol of Irish heritage, brewing craftsmanship and communal gatherings.

In Malaysia, the annual celebration has grown into a much-anticipated event among stout lovers and pub-goers, bringing together friends, colleagues and communities to enjoy the ritual of sharing a pint. This year’s campaign continues that tradition by combining festive experiences with interactive activities at selected outlets.

“Double the Guinness” challenge enhances pub experience

Central to this year’s celebration is the “Double the Guinness” experience, an interactive challenge inspired by the brand’s iconic two-part pouring ritual. The traditional pour, a hallmark of the Guinness experience, requires patience and precision to achieve the signature creamy head and rich body that define the stout.

During the campaign period, consumers who purchase a Guinness Draught set at participating outlets will receive a token allowing them to take part in the challenge. Participants who successfully replicate the appearance of a perfectly poured pint will be rewarded with Guinness Draught served in a pint glass, subject to the campaign’s terms and conditions.

In addition to the challenge, participating outlets are offering a limited-time promotion throughout March. Consumers who purchase two sets of Guinness Draught will receive an additional pint, subject to availability and the respective terms set by each outlet.

According to Joyce Lim, the campaign is designed to celebrate not only the iconic stout but also the social traditions that surround it.

“Guinness has long been at the heart of St. Patrick’s Day,” she said. “More than an Irish stout, it represents heritage, craft and the shared ritual of raising a pint together. This St. Patrick’s, we invite stout lovers to come together to share stories, laughter and meaningful moments in celebration of the occasion.”

The nationwide campaign reflects the growing popularity of experiential brand activations within Malaysia’s nightlife and hospitality sector, where consumers increasingly seek immersive experiences beyond traditional drink promotions.

With themed activities, exclusive promotions and festive Irish-inspired entertainment, the campaign aims to create memorable moments for stout enthusiasts while reinforcing Guinness’ long-standing association with St. Patrick’s celebrations.

Consumers interested in participating can find details about the campaign and participating outlets through the official social media pages of Guinness Malaysia.

All Guinness promotions and activities are strictly for non-Muslims aged 21 and above and are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Guinness Malaysia also encourages responsible consumption and reminds consumers not to drink and drive.
