Wheelchair-bound father gets 17 years for raping daughter

A 56-year-old wheelchair-bound man was yesterday sentenced by the Johor Bahru Sessions Court to 17 years jail and 10 lashes for raping his 15-year-old daughter.

The man pleaded guilty to the offence, which happened on several occasions between Mar 14 to April 4 in their house in Kulaijaya.

In sentencing, Judge Nu’aman Mahmud Zuhudi noted that the accused took advantage on his position and his own flesh and blood to satisfy his sexual urges.

The case was prosecuted by DPP Jasmee Hameeza Jaffar whereas the accused was unrepresented..

The accused was charged under Section 376B of the Penal Code.
