Two masked men armed with a machete and a rod held up a security guard and escaped with a trailer lorry laden with fertiliser meant for oil palm on Sunday.
The fertiliser was worth about RM200,000.
The robbers had earlier broken into a transport company in the Mentakab industrial area around 4.30am, and overpowered the guard before gagging him and tying him up with ropes.
Pahang Criminal Investigation Department deputy chief, Superintendent Nordin Mustapha, said the 30-year-old guard was alone at the time he was confronted.
He added that this was the third time that the transport company was hit by intruders. On March 31, a group of men escaped with a lorry laden with similar fertiliser worth about RM48,000.
On March 8, the company management reported the theft of an empty lorry from its premises.
