Residents flee flood-hit Kampung Segaliud near Sandakan

180 residents of Kampung Segaliud in Sandakan has been displaced due to the overnight flood which hit the village. The flooding caused a suspension bridge and a perimeter fencing of a school to give way.

Overnight flooding in Kampung Segaliud near here has forced 180 residents of the village to take refuge at homes of friends and relatives and its mosque.

Out of the 180 residents, 30 are taking shelter at the mosque.

The flooding has also caused a suspension bridge in the village to give way while the perimeter fence of Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Segaliud came apart due to rushing water.

Sekong assemblyman, Datuk Samsudin Yahya when met at the scene said the Welfare Department’s assistance had been enlisted to help those affected.
