Victor Wong named WVM’s 30-Hour Famine ambassador

The 30-Hour Famine is an annual campaign by World Vision Malaysia to raise funds and awareness for children affected by poverty and hunger

World Vision Malaysia (WVM) officially launched its 30-Hour Famine 2023 campaign with the naming of Victor Wong as its 30-Hour Famine Ambassador. The overseas-based Malaysian singer-songwriter and actor has been actively involved in humanitarian work for many years, and is also a strong advocate for the rights of children and youths.

The 30-Hour Famine is an annual campaign by WVM to raise funds and awareness for children affected by poverty and hunger. Participants are encouraged to fast for 30 hours whilst raising funds from family and friends. Funds raised go towards WVM programmes that provide education, livelihood opportunities, clean water, protection and healthcare to underprivileged communities globally and locally.

As this year’s ambassador, Victor Wong will be lending his voice and influence to promote the 30-Hour Famine and encourage more people to join the cause. He has also visited communities and families in Sabah that are benefitting from the programme.

Strike Out Hunger

The slogan for WVM’s 30-Hour Famine 2023 is “Strike Out Hunger”, encapsulating the organisation’s hope for a world free of hunger where vulnerable children and communities can thrive.
