Transport Minister Anthony Loke has revealed that the “FF vehicle registration series collected an all-time high of RM34.2 million in bids.
The series has gained immense popularity among the public, who have enthusiastically participated in the bidding process via JPJ’s e-Bid portal to commemorate the Road Transport Department’s 77th anniversary.
Loke, in a press conference held in Parliament, announced the highest bid received is RM 950,000 for vehicle registration plate “FF 8.”
“FF” vehicle registration series record-breaking bids
Since the introduction of online vehicle registration bidding through the JPJ system in 2019, the “FF” plate series has witnessed the highest bids, showcasing the tremendous interest among Malaysians to secure unique registration numbers.
Notably, FF 8 emerged as the top contender with a remarkable bid of RM 950,000, followed closely by FF 9 at RM 911,999. Other significant bids include FF 3 (RM 639,000), FF 2 (RM 638,000), and FF 7 (RM 633,000).

“This means there are only slightly more than 1,000 running left for the plates,” he added.
According to Loke the numbers with the most interest were “FF199” with 34 bidders and “FF51” (32), whereas “FF155”, “FF555” and “FF1688” had 29 bidders each.
Overwhelming response and participation
The “FF” series has received an overwhelming response from the public, attracting a remarkable total of 34,032 bidders. Out of this impressive number, 8,348 participants successfully secured their desired registration numbers, demonstrating widespread enthusiasm for the series.
During the bidding period, JPJ encountered a service disruption, leading to the extension of the bidding period. The department cited “service disruption” as the reason for the inconvenience faced by participants.
Anthony acknowledging the public’s complaints about the unstable JPJeBid system caused by high traffic, addressed the issue on his social media platform. To ensure fairness, JPJ extended the bidding time by an additional 24 hours, providing ample opportunity for interested participants to place their bids.
