21 Putrajaya roads closed for National Day rehearsals

In preparation for the upcoming National Day celebrations, Putrajaya will see a series of road closures beginning August 27. A total of 21 main roads will be closed daily from 5 a.m. to 11 a.m. until August 29 to facilitate rehearsal sessions. According to an infographic on Merdeka360’s official Facebook page, the roads affected include Laman Perdana, Lebuh Wawasan, and Lebuh Bestari (towards Jalan Tun Abdul Razak), as well as Jalan P2K, Jalan Pembangunan, and Lingkaran Gemilang 1.

The closures are part of the meticulous planning efforts to ensure the success of the National Day parade and other celebratory events. Motorists passing through these areas during the rehearsal days are advised to take note of the closures and plan alternative routes.

Additional closures on August 30 and 31

As the National Day draws nearer, additional road closures will be implemented on August 30 and 31, from 7 p.m. until the conclusion of the celebrations. Another 10 major roads will be affected, including Persiaran Barat, Lebuh Sentosa (towards Lebuh Saujana), and Jalan Presint 18 (towards Lebuh Bestari). These closures are essential to ensure the safety and smooth flow of the events, which are expected to attract thousands of participants and spectators.

The road closures reflect the significance of this year’s celebrations, themed “Malaysia Madani: Jiwa Merdeka,” symbolizing the unity and integration of Malaysians from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
