Parkson’s Think Green Act Green 2024 returns

Parkson’s Think Green Act Green 2024 campaign champions sustainability, offering eco-friendly activities, local crafts, and exclusive deals all month long.

In a continued commitment to environmental responsibility and community involvement, Parkson has launched its second annual Think Green Act Green campaign. Running from 27 September to 27 October 2024, this month-long initiative aims to raise awareness of sustainability while fostering creativity, culture, and conservation through partnerships with local artisans, environmental organizations, and eco-friendly brands.

Empowering local artisans and students

Supporting local talent is central to Parkson’s campaign this year. Parkson has teamed up with Kraftangan Malaysia to host an artisanal showcase every weekend, where local craftsmen display unique handmade items such as Batik clothing, crochet bags, and more. Additionally, Parkson Pavilion Bukit Jalil is holding creative workshops on Batik and bracelet-making to spark cultural appreciation and hands-on engagement among attendees.

Further enriching this creative platform, Parkson’s collaboration with the Malaysian Institute of Art (MIA) has led to a showcase of sustainable fashion. Eleven talented students have crafted 12 fashion pieces entirely from recycled or waste materials, presenting inventive approaches to eco-conscious design. Local designer Melinda Looi will also be joining the campaign, offering students valuable insights into sustainable fashion, fostering their passion for environmentally friendly design.

Promoting eco-conscious choices

In a drive to raise environmental awareness, Parkson has joined hands with Great Wall Motors (GWM) to feature their latest electric vehicle (EV), the ORA07. Designed for urbanites, this stylish EV represents a step towards reducing carbon emissions, with test drives available on weekends. In addition, Parkson’s partnership with KB Colour X Ani Kertas introduces shoppers to unique Pangolin sculptures crafted from recycled paper, symbolizing the importance of endangered species and environmental conservation.

The campaign also includes innovative collaborations to improve recycling and resource use. Recircle, a mobile app that digitalizes the recycling industry, offers visitors rewards for donating e-waste, while Community Recycle for Charity (CRC) has set up drop-off points for clothing and other recyclable items. Together, these initiatives aim to promote sustainable habits and facilitate ease of participation in recycling efforts.

Additional highlights include a Shop & Win contest with prizes from La Gourmet and special Happy Hour deals every weekend. These activities reinforce Parkson’s commitment to sustainability, engaging the community with rewarding eco-conscious options.

Parkson’s Think Green Act Green 2024 campaign is not only an opportunity to celebrate sustainable practices but also a call to action. With a diverse range of activities, Parkson invites the public to take part in shaping a greener, more sustainable future.
