Carlsberg Golf Classic wraps up 31st edition with thrilling finale

Carlsberg Golf Classic crowns Lam Kong Foo and Lee Kok Hua as champions, concluding its 31st edition with RM2.7 million in prizes

The Carlsberg Golf Classic (CGC), Malaysia’s longest-running amateur golf tournament series, concluded its 31st edition at Kota Permai Golf & Country Club with an exciting showdown. Over 3,600 golfers competed in 32 qualifiers, culminating in an intense final where Lam Kong Foo and Lee Kok Hua emerged victorious, claiming the titles of Gross and Nett Champions respectively.

The tournament, which kicked off in June, saw Lam deliver an impressive performance, finishing with 75 strokes (3 over par) in a nail-biting finale. Lam’s precise shots and calm demeanor made him a deserving champion in front of a cheering crowd. Nett winner Lee Kok Hua shared the spotlight, both winners receiving top-of-the-line Garmin devices, including the Venu 3, epix Pro, and Approach Z82 to enhance their game.

Reflecting on his journey, Lee commented, “Winning the Carlsberg Golf Classic National Finals is great, but the true highlight has been the camaraderie and sportsmanship on display. It’s not just about the prizes; it’s about the friendships and memories made along the way.”

Vespa added excitement to the event by offering Vespa Primavera and Vespa Sprint scooters as Hole-In-One prizes for qualifying rounds and the grand finals, turning the competition into a high-stakes affair.

Additionally, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia, in partnership with Hap Seng Star, continued their support by presenting two Mercedes-Benz EQA 250 cars as Hole-In-One prizes during the National Finals. Golf enthusiasts also had the opportunity to take home TaylorMade’s premium golf gear, adidas apparel, and Garmin’s latest tech, giving participants a memorable experience both on and off the greens.
