Malacca, renowned for its rich cultural heritage, has added a new attraction to its list of firsts with the opening of its inaugural LEGO Certified Store at AEON Bandaraya Melaka. The 1,302 sq. ft. store, located in the heart of the Baba Nyonya cultural district, promises an exciting fusion of creativity and culture for LEGO enthusiasts and tourists alike.

The store boasts a unique showcase of Malacca’s vibrant heritage through LEGO, including a stunning 3D model of a traditional Nyonya lady created entirely with LEGO bricks. This model, designed by LEGO’s model-building specialist Alen Zhang, reflects the intricate details of the Baba Nyonya heritage. “Creating this model was not just about assembling bricks; it was about telling the story of the local culture,” shared Zhang.

The store also features a breathtaking Graphic Pillar adorned with LEGO representations of iconic Malacca landmarks, including the Stadthuys and the Baba Nyonya Heritage Museum. The designs incorporate LEGO minifigures engaged in local activities such as enjoying ondeh-ondeh, taking selfies as tourists, and riding trishaws. This tribute further underscores the LEGO Group’s efforts to honour Malacca’s historical and cultural identity.
