Bolt, a global leader in mobility services, recently held its first-ever Driver Engagement Event in Malaysia, celebrating the achievements of its partner drivers while underscoring its commitment to building a supportive ride-hailing ecosystem. The event, graced by YB Anthony Loke, Minister of Transport Malaysia, showcased the government’s dedication to advancing innovative mobility solutions that align with the country’s evolving transportation needs.
Highlighting the role of platforms like Bolt, YB Anthony Loke remarked, “We are committed to enhancing the Klang Valley’s transport network by supporting innovative platforms like Bolt, which contribute to a more competitive and dynamic ride-hailing industry. This competition ensures better opportunities for drivers, empowering them with fairer earning potential and greater autonomy, while passengers benefit from improved services and affordability. These efforts align with our vision of a connected, sustainable, and efficient transportation ecosystem, ensuring improved accessibility and quality of life for all in the Klang Valley.”
This event reinforced the collaborative efforts between the government and private sector in tackling transportation challenges, especially in densely populated urban areas like the Klang Valley.
Top Drivers Honoured
A highlight of the event was the recognition of Bolt’s top three partner drivers, whose exceptional service has been instrumental in shaping a positive ride-hailing experience. By acknowledging these contributions, Bolt emphasised the vital role of its drivers in the success of the platform.
Afzan Lutfi, General Manager of Bolt Malaysia, shared the company’s deep appreciation for its drivers, “Our partner drivers are the foundation of Bolt’s success, and this event was a celebration of their incredible dedication and achievements. It was an opportunity to recognise their contributions and engage with them directly, ensuring their voices are heard as we continue to grow in Malaysia. Events like this highlight the strong sense of community we’re building together with our partner drivers, who play a vital role in shaping the Bolt experience for passengers.”
The initiative reflects Bolt’s driver-first approach, which prioritises fair earnings, flexibility, and safety for its partners.
Building Sustainable Urban Mobility
Bolt’s entry into Malaysia is driven by its vision of creating cities for people, not cars. Through shared mobility solutions, the company aims to address urban challenges such as congestion and pollution, while complementing the public transport network to enhance connectivity.
With the Malaysian ride-hailing market expected to grow significantly, reaching 11.47 million users by 2029, Bolt seeks to bridge transportation gaps and support the country’s digital gig economy. Its focus on last-mile connectivity aligns with the government’s broader goals for urban mobility improvements.
The Driver Engagement Event not only celebrated Bolt’s current achievements but also outlined its plans to redefine the ride-hailing experience in Malaysia. By listening to its drivers and integrating innovative solutions, Bolt is poised to make a lasting impact on the local transportation landscape.
As Afzan Lutfi concluded, “We’re proud of the momentum Bolt has achieved in Malaysia and are committed to supporting our partner drivers as we drive positive change in the ride-hailing industry.”
With its human-centred approach and emphasis on innovation, Bolt continues to strengthen its presence in Malaysia, fostering stronger communities and improving the quality of life for all commuters.
