PROTON has officially opened bookings for the All-New PROTON X50, signalling the next chapter in its highly successful SUV story. The launch event, themed “All-New PROTON X50: READY TO ROAR”, was held at Setia City Mall, marking the debut of a model that promises to raise the bar in design, safety, connectivity, and performance.
Since its first introduction in 2020, the PROTON X50 has become a household name, dominating the B-segment SUV category in Malaysia with over 140,000 units sold. Globally co-developed with Geely and marketed as the Binyue and Coolray in other markets, the vehicle has achieved more than 1.2 million units sold across 51 countries, underscoring its international appeal.
Redefined performance
The All-New PROTON X50 is engineered to deliver more than just aesthetic upgrades. Under the hood, it boasts the new i-GT 1.5 TD engine mated to a 7-speed DCT, offering 133kW and 290Nm of torque—enabling a 0–100 km/h sprint in just 7.6 seconds, a 0.3-second improvement over the previous model. Fuel efficiency has also been enhanced by 4.7%, reflecting PROTON’s commitment to performance and environmental sustainability.
On the tech front, the SUV features a revamped 14.6-inch infotainment system—the largest in its class—complete with world-first Bahasa Melayu voice recognition. Safety gets a substantial upgrade as well with enhanced Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), solidifying the X50’s status as one of the smartest and safest SUVs in the segment.
Three variants will be offered: Executive, Premium, and Flagship. Each comes with new add-ons valued at over RM10,000, designed to meet the evolving expectations of Malaysian drivers seeking comfort, tech, and style.
‘READY TO ROAR’ package
Early birds stand to benefit from PROTON’s READY TO ROAR campaign, which offers special incentives to the first 10,000 customers who book and register their vehicles between 5th July and the yet-to-be-announced launch date. These include a RM1,000 cash rebate, a limited-edition Touch ‘n Go card, and a mystery GEMPAK! deal to be unveiled during the official launch.
This move is expected to further accelerate consumer interest in the new X50, which already commands strong brand loyalty and market attention. PROTON’s pre-launch strategy taps into the appetite for limited-time offers while building anticipation through digital and on-ground activation.

To bring the All-New X50 closer to Malaysians, PROTON has rolled out the Roar of Amazement Tour, a nationwide roadshow starting this weekend. Visitors will have a chance to experience the SUV firsthand, interact with popular influencers, and win exclusive prizes through various engaging activities. The tour is aimed at building direct consumer engagement across major urban and semi-urban locations.
In a creative marketing move, PROTON has teamed up with local pop sensation De Fam to launch the campaign’s official anthem, “All-New PROTON X50 Ready, Set, Roar”. The energetic track encapsulates the bold and dynamic identity of the X50 and will feature heavily on social media, live showcases, and promotional content.
