M-Splash Water Fun Run brings a splash of joy

Centrepoint’s M-Splash Water Fun Run 2025 turned Bandar Utama into a vibrant splash zone, blending fitness and fun in a 7KM celebration.

Centrepoint, Bandar Utama, was transformed into a playground of water, bubbles, and laughter last Saturday morning (Aug 2) as more than 1,000 participants gathered for the M-Splash Water Fun Run 2025. Dubbed the “wettest fun run of the year,” the 7-kilometre event was anything but ordinary, blending elements of fitness, play, and family bonding into one memorable community celebration.

Organised by Centrepoint, the event saw runners of all ages donning vibrant sportswear and armed with water guns, ready to take on a route lined with splash zones, bubble showers, and interactive stations such as hand-canvas painting. The Damansara Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) also joined in the spirit, dousing runners with their hoses—much to the delight of children and adults alike.

Adding to the event’s carnival atmosphere were themed stations strategically set up along the route, turning the neighbourhood into a festive watercourse where laughter echoed and every step brought a new surprise.

A celebration of family and togetherness

What set M-Splash apart was its strong emphasis on inclusivity and family participation. Categories included solo runners, family packs, and friends teams, making it ideal for both serious joggers and fun-seeking families.

“We wanted to create something that wasn’t just about running but about togetherness and fun,” said Natasha, secretary of the organising team. “Seeing families laughing and friends teaming up in water fights truly captured what this event is all about.”

From toddlers splashing with parents to grandparents cheering from the sidelines, the event catered to a wide demographic, proving that wellness events can be multi-generational and accessible to all fitness levels.

A hit with the community

Social media platforms quickly lit up with photos and videos from the event, showcasing everything from soaked runners dancing under bubble showers to slow-motion water gun duels. The joyful moments, tagged with #MSplashRun2025, painted a clear picture: M-Splash had struck a chord with the community.

Many hailed it as one of the most imaginative and enjoyable fun runs held in the Klang Valley this year. With no competitive timing and a focus on enjoyment, the run managed to attract everyone from avid runners to weekend strollers.

Participants praised the smooth organisation, unique features, and vibrant atmosphere. Several expressed hope that the event would become a recurring fixture.

M-Splash as a community tradition

Buoyed by the overwhelming response, Centrepoint is now exploring the possibility of making M-Splash an annual event. The initiative has not only showcased the fun side of fitness but also strengthened Centrepoint’s reputation as a hub for local engagement and community-driven activities.

“Events like M-Splash remind us that fitness can be fun, family-centred, and truly community-driven,” Natasha said, beaming with pride at the success of the event.

As runners dried off and took home their medals—along with buckets of memories—it was clear that M-Splash was more than just a fun run. It was a testament to what happens when a community comes together to celebrate life, health, and each other.
