Workshop gives hope to the handicap

In 1992, the Rotary Club of Penang recognized the need in society for a workshop for the handicapped. The workshop was named Joblink Centre. It is intended to assist the handicap secure jobs.

According to the president of the organisation Dr Gurdev Singh Gill, special schools for the handicapped cater until the age of 17. After that, they are left on their own.

He said leaving them at home doing nothing will leave their discouraged and shy away from society.
