With the approaching Aidilfitri celebrations, GM Klang Wholesale City has become the go-to place for shoppers, including those from neighbouring countries like Singapore, Brunei and Indonesia, for home decoration items.
GM Klang Brand Communications senior manager, Norsuhaida Othman, said the wholesale centre not only offers goods at wholesale prices but also provides a one-stop-shop for various products.
“Many buses ferrying groups from Singapore came here, especially two or three months before Ramadan month, and this showed their loyalty to GM Klang in getting items for raya preparations, as they always did before the pandemic,” she said in a statement today.
Customers visiting GM Klang are particularly interested in carpets, curtains, and home decorations, in addition to baju raya. Norsuhaida noted that some customers visit the centre solely to order curtains, which can be completed within a few hours.
In addition to these items, wall stickers, bed sheets, tablecloths, decorative trees and flowers, and cushion covers are also popular household items at the wholesale centre. Norsuhaida added that GM Klang’s decorative raya items such as LED lights and lanterns are other main attractions for shoppers.
With the trend of last-minute shopping still popular among the community, GM Klang expects the number of shoppers to increase until the end of Ramadan. “We also found that, on average, customers like carpets, curtains and home decorations available at GM Klang, apart from baju raya,” Norsuhaida said.
