SJK (C) Thorburn burgled twice in 3 months

A teacher of the school, Tan Tzer Lee discovered the break-in at around 6.30am when he arrived at the school and noticed the iron grille gate and the school administration office door wide ajar.

Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina (SJK) Thorburn in Taman Mutiara Rini, Skudai was burgled again two days ago.

A teacher of the school, Tan Tzer Lee discovered the break-in at around 6.30am when he arrived at the school and noticed the iron grille gate and the school administration office door wide ajar.

He suspected something amiss and head straight to the office and found the whole office was ransacked.

“I asked the clerical staff to ascertain what have been stolen before leaving to the Mutiara Rini police station to lodge a report, ” he said.

The clerk reported that two units of laptop computers and a projector were found missing, said Tan, adding that this is the second time the school has been burgled.

The last incident happened February this year and since nothing was stolen, the school did not make a police report.

The school security guard admitted that he noticed the administration office door was wide ajar at around 2am when he doing his patrolling round.

“I did not report the incident to the management as my pre-paid phonecard ran out of credit and was unable to make a call”, said the security guard.

He told reporters at the scene that the teachers common room was also broken into as evidenced by the numerous fingerprint marks in the room and the gate fencing located behind the room was cut too.

Jason Teoh, the Gelang Patah MCA chief, arrived at about 9.30am after being informed of the incident.
