The Selangor State Assembly’s Rights and Privileges Committee has ruled that Port Klang assemblyman Badrul Hisham Abdullah not guilty of contempt of the state assembly.

The Selangor State Assembly’s Rights and Privileges Committee has ruled that Port Klang assemblyman Badrul Hisham Abdullah not guilty of contempt of the state assembly.

The committee, however, ruled that Badrul Hisham’s lawyer, Mohd Hafarizam Harun guilty for failing to attend the hearing today and ordered him to pay a fine of RM20,000.

Headed by Kota Alam Shah assemblyman M.Manoharan, the committee decided that the decision taken against Mohd Hafarizam should be extended to the state assembly for further consideration.

Manoharan said the three-member panel was satisfied with the explanation given by Badrul Hisham and a witness involved and unanimously found him (Badrul Hisham) not guilty.

“The committee has agreed to release and discharge Badrul Hisham from attending the hearing today,” he told reporters after the committee’s hearing at the State Secretariat here today.
