Following its huge success in 2014 and 2015, Malaysia’s leading comic arts event Comic Arts Festival Kuala Lumpur (CAFKL) returns for a third year this May to showcase and bring to light Malaysia’s vibrant comic and creative culture to the public yet again.

SAYS Youth Society, the organiser of Malaysia’s largest comic convention Comic Fiesta announced at a press conference that the third edition of Comic Arts Festival Kuala Lumpur 3 (CAFKL3) will take place on 28 & 29 May 2016 at Makespace, Quill City Mall, Kuala Lumpur.

“CAFKL provides a platform for both aspiring and professional artists to gather and showcase their talent. We aim to create an inclusive and welcoming space that encourages interaction between anyone who has a love or appreciation for creativity and art,” said Yoke, the showrunner of the event.

Like in previous years, there will be artist booths for visitors to check out
This year’s CAFKL3 will have more artist booths, including over 70 artists from South East Asia countries selling their “indie variety” artworks.

Among the highlights will be art booths with over 70 artists from South East Asia region who will be selling their artworks.

“Production of these merchandise from the region are usually of the “indie” variety, so given its limited availability, it rarely is something that often has a regular distribution at your regular stores. For fans of the artists or anyone looking for original art, surely this is surely an opportunity not to be missed,” said Yoke.

There will also be talk shows by speakers who will share their ideas and experiences on their areas of expertise; art demos by accomplished artists as well as workshops and discussion panels who will engage in discussions and sharing on ideas with the public to help grow the community and the industry.

CAFKL3 will also be a rare chance for aspiring artists to learn from established veterans, both local and international, about the state of the industry.
