Muslims who attended Friday prayers today at a mosque in Kuah helped to raise RM616.50 for a man who had appealed for
donations to buy a prosthetic leg.

Che Ahmad Din, 51, was overwhelmed by the gesture of fellow Muslims who attended the prayers at the Al Hana Mosque.
“I am touched by their sympathy; they helped to raise RM616.50,” he said.
Che Ahmad has been using crutches to move about to sell the “roti Arab” (bread) which his wife, Aishah Isa, 48, makes.

He needs RM1,150 to replace a wooden right leg he lost to last November’s floods which struck his home in Lorong Bunga Raya, Tongkang Yard, Alor Setar.

“I have saved up RM400, and need some donations to make up the balance,” he
told Bernama yesterday.

The diabetic, who had his right leg amputated 12 years ago, has five children, four of whom are still schooling, and three grandchildren.

Che Ahmad can be contacted at 012 529 7161.
