M’sian Evian Lee hopes to win Miss CosmoWorld 2018

KUALA LUMPUR – The 21-year beauty blogger won the hearts of judges with her hibiscus-inspired costume to win the first subsidiary title for Malaysia. 

Our girl Miss CosmoWorld 2018 finalist Evian Lee got her first break when she was awarded Best National Costume subsidiary title during a press conference to unveil the contestants at White Box, Publika, Kuala Lumpur on 23 November 2018.

The 21-year beauty blogger won the hearts of judges with her hibiscus-inspired costume to win the first subsidiary title for Malaysia.  Hibiscus rosa-sinensis is the national flower of Malaysia.

“Flower represents the beauty of women and symbolises a lot of good values. For example, red flower is a symbol of love, passion and energy which are the kind of vibes I want to bring to my audience. So I think hibiscus is a good choice as it is our national flower as well,” she said on her reason for choosing the costume.

“I am proud to represent Malaysia in this international pageant. It is absolutely a new experience for me knowing that everyone comes from a different background makes this environment more challenging to adapt. However, I enjoy being surrounded by all of them as we live as global citizens.

“I will try my best to bring the crown to Malaysia. I see this as more like a responsibility than something just for myself as I am participating this pageant representing my beloved country Malaysia,” she added.

Miss CosmoWorld 2018 pageant contestants show off national costumes.

The Best National Costume subsidiary title is one of the 10 subsidiary titles to be accorded at the Miss CosmoWorld 2018 pageant world final to be held at JW Marriott Kuala Lumpur on 2nd December, 2018

All 28 contestants from across the world showcased their showed their elaborate outfits during the National Costume Showcase.

Miss CosmoWorld pageant founder and organiser Carrie Lee said this year guests will be served vegetarian meal during the Miss CosmoWold 2018 finals gala dinner to promote world environmental awareness.

“Everyone plays a role in saving the earth. As a baby step that Miss CosmoWorld would like contribute by serving vegetarian meal to all of our guests at the gala night. We believe that this could be the most special pageant that has ever been held around the world,” she said.

28 finalists unveiled for Miss CosmoWorld 2018. Standing in the centre (front row) is Carrie Lee, founder and organiser of Miss CosmoWorld 2018.

There will be a total value of RM500, 000 worth of prizes, vacation trips, contracts, film star opportunities, hosting and other lucrative prizes for all the winners, including grand prizes comprising RM50,000 cash and a chance to fly to Italy for vacation and modelling opportunity.
