Penang hikers get healthier

 

The Bukit Jambul Hike Trail, one of the most prominent in the Bayan Baru area of Penang, recently received RM10,000 for free exercise equipment along and around the hiking trail.

The allocation was sponsored jointly by Pantai Jerejak assemblyman, Sim Tze Tzin, and also Batu Uban assemblyman, Raveentharan.

“It is part of of our effort to make Penang a pioneer in green initiatives,” Sim told Komunitikini.

Sim also suggested educating the hikers on the use of polystyrenes and to discourage them from using plastics.

“The state government would like the support of these environmental NGOs in all these initiatives,” he added.

The Bukit Jambul Hike Trail, which is managed by a independent group of volunteers, has been receiving funding to enahnce its exercise facilities for two successful years.
