Upon the death of the King and Queen in a freak accident, the old wise vizier (Bonda Bendahara) has adopted the young prince. The vizier ruled the land on behalf of the prince until he comes of age.
As the young prince comes to age, he shows no interest in women, as he is constantly being surrounded by Bonda Bendahara and the royal escorts.
The law has stated that in order to be the ruler, he must be married. Thus, in a frantic but ifunny way, Bonda Bendahara and the palace must do their best to find a suitable consort for the prince.
On the other hand, a long-distance cousin of the prince, who has been eyeing the throne, sends his tough-looking bodyguards to distract the prince, so that he can claim the throne.
Will the prince ever finds his true love? Will the evil cousin succeed in his plan?
The Ruler, a brainchild of local funnyman Sham Sunder Binwani, is funny, entertaining and suitable for the whole family.
The special musical comedy, produced by The Actors Studio Teater Rakyat is a unique mix of songs, dance, plenty of laughs and even cross-dressing characters.
The Ruler will run for two consecutive weekends at The Actors Studio @ Lot 10 from November 25 – December 5.
