IF you have got the skills, why not groove it to the beat in Astro’s street dance competition, BATTLEGROUND?
That’s right; the much-anticipated street dance challenge is back –promising a more explosive performance from a total of 18 crews.
Themed as “Battleground, the Battlezone,” Battleground 2010 saw 18 crews qualify for the finals from a recent walk-in audition held at the Berjaya Times Square main entrance. Initially, the judges have set 16 crews for the final battle, but due to overwhelming response and enthusiasm shown by the dance crews, the judges decided to extend the expanded its numbers of finalists from 16 to 18 crews.
“We do not want to waste such talents and great spirits shown by the participating dance crews, hence we decided to let two more teams in,” said Aga a.k.a. Swiftlocker, a dance guru from Taiwan, who is also one of the judges alongside Marcus Tucker and Peter Ong.
The 18 finalists are Unbreakable, VersusStylez, Fresh Moo, Ruffneck’z, Metalloid, Centre Line, The Puzzle, Soul Krazy, Fresh Beat Rockerz, HMC PHLow, Twister Mix, Floor Digital, Dynamix, Floor Fever, Bionic Funk, BLazin Squad, Max Identity and Mustang.
Battleground 2010 will be hosted by deejays, Gan Mei Yan (MY FM) and Serena C (Mix FM).
The programme will be aired on Astro Wah Lai Toi (Channel 311) every Saturday at 7pm, starting October 23.
