Local filmmakers, this is your chance

yt2 Producer Ridley Scott, director Kevin Macdonald and YouTube are coming together this month to work on what is expected to be the world’s largest user-generated feature film, ‘Life in a day’, and you’re invited.

On 24 July 2010, people will have 24 hours to capture their lives on video doing everyday things that define their lives as well as significant moments that make them unique.

The Oscar winning director of  The Last King of Scotland, Touching the Void and One Day in September, Kevin Macdonald will edit all the submissions to create the historic cinematic experience to be premiered in the Sundance Film Festival in January 2011.

The talented film makers with their piece in the feature film will be credited as co-directors and 20 selected contributors will brought to the Sundance premier to celebrate with the director himself.

To encourage even more involvement Youtube will keep all submissions on the ‘Life in a day’ Youtube Channel to be preserved in a time capsule.
