Bonsai and Orchid Exhibition 2012, KL

The Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah and the Raja Permaisuri Agong launched the Inaugural Bonsai and Orchid Exhibition at the Perdana Botanical Gardens in Kuala Lumpur, this morning.

Growing a bonsai requires passion and patience

More than 100 bonsai plants are on exhibition. Using wires, the stems and roots of any potted plant may be tied up to limit growth and induce the intricate and  distorted shapes which is characteristic of a bonsai.
