Irene Fernandez: Same same BUT different

The Gender Equality Forum is part of a series of fora run by Tenaganita and Equal Rights Trust (UK) to strengthen the role of Malaysian civil society in realizing equality and antidiscrimination provisions enshrined in the Federal Constitution.

Today’s forum on Equality under the theme: Same same BUT different is held at Rumah Universiti, Universiti of Malaya in conjunction with International Women’s Day on the 8th March 2011.  The keynote address is delivered by Dr Irene Fernandez, a Director and Co-founder of Tenaganita.

Amongst the many NGOs and organisations involved in this proejct are Persatuan Kesedaran Komuniti Selangor (EMPOWER), Tenaganita, Sisters in Islam, Bar Council Malaysia, The Equal Rights Trust (UK) Amnesty Malaysia, Malaysiakini, Rumah Universiti and International Women RIght’s Action Watch Asia Pacific.
