Every year until last year, Bukit Jalil estate residents had been celebrating the Ponggal, with their families at their homes.
However, this year they were forced to carry out the Ponggal ceremony outside their homes, at the Bukit Jalil estate entrance.
On January 15, the City Hall had issued a notice that they would demolish the Bukit Jalil Estate.
