Stand up and walk

It costs RM 520,000 to fit 210 people with artificial limbs. One can say it is a small amount for so many to gain mobility.

But sadly, like someone mentioned to CJ Lilian, why didn’t our government provide these to our needy Malaysians? Instead, the help comes from the Prostheses Foundation Under the Patronage of the Princess Mother of Thailand and generous donors.

CJ Lilian tries to capture the spirit of the people whom can stand up and walk. These people come from all ethnic background from all over Malaysia. Old and young, each of them were so happy when they were fitted with the artificial legs made just for each of them.

110 Thai nationalities came to Penang to make the prostheses. Some of them are also recipients of artificial legs. Local Malaysians helped with the translations and other services.

The event was graced by the Consul-General of Thailand and Lim Guan Eng and held at the Che Hoon Khor Moral Uplifting Society in Penang.

The Penang State Government donates a sum of money to the foundation to help more people.
