The aftermath of the Kampar flood

KAMPAR – The damages ranged from destroyed crops to houses so badly ruined by the flood that it split in two.

Although the flood that hit Kampar on April 13 has been slowly receding, the disaster that it left behind was far from over.  CJMY  braved the heavy rains to be there last week to witness the devastation.

The damages ranged from destroyed crops to houses so badly ruined by the flood that it split in two.  The pictures speak for themselves…

Kampar River still swollen
River banks turned into swamps

Floods receding
Devastation beyond words
House wall cracked in two right down the middle
No choice but to make a make shift shelter by the road side
