Red Mass held for legal professionals in Kota Kinabalu

Some 30 Catholic lawyers clad in their fine black and white robes, together with their families attended a special Red Mass for legal professionals in Kota Kinabalu today.

Some 30 Catholic lawyers and their families led by Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan attended a Red Mass for the legal profession celebrated by Archbishop John Lee and Bishop John Wong today at the Church of Mary Immaculate in Bukit Padang.

This is the first time that the curch has hosted a mass specially for those in the legal profession. 

The procession of lawyers and judges led by former State Attorney General Tan Sri Herman Luping and Lawyer and Justice of the Peace A. Aludah preceded the mass before refreshment was served at the church’s canteen after the service.

Archbishop Lee in his homily commended and exhorted the lawyers and judges for their struggle and service for justice.
