Winners crowned at Miss & Mrs Msia Planet, Petite World pageant

PETALING JAYA – Three pageant titles were awarded during the Miss & Mrs Malaysia Planet 2019 and Mrs Malaysia Petite World 2019 finals

Three pageant titles were awarded during the Miss & Mrs Malaysia Planet 2019 and Mrs Malaysia Petite World 2019 finals held at Royale Chulan Damansara Hotel in Mutiara Damansara, Petaling Jaya on 12 January 2019.

Brenie Sea Bee Nee, 28, a singer, from Perak was crowned Miss Malaysia Planet 2019. She also won two subsidiary titles for Best Evening Gown and Best Talent.

Toh Suan Sim, 41, a homemaker and emcee from Kuala Lumpur was crowned Mrs Malaysia Planet 2019. The mother of two children also took home three subsidiary titles for Best Evening Gown, Most Photogenic and Best Eloquence.

Christine Choo Wai Yen, 42, a beauty consultant from Perak, was awarded the title of Mrs Malaysia Petite World 2019. The 158 cm (5′ 2″) tall mother of two children also grabbed two subsidiary titles for Best Talent and Most Congeniality.

There were a total of 19 contestants competing for the three titles.

All three champions received RM3,000 cash, sash, crown, trophy and sponsored prizes each as well as the opportunity to represent the country to compete at the international level.

There were also four runners-up for each of the three title groups and a total of 35 subsidiary titles awarded, including for Best Evening Gown, Most Congeniality, Best Photogenic and Best Fitness.

The 13-member panel of judges included Datin Maylene (GlitterRama Ladies Charity Group president), Alina Wang (ERM Marketing Sdn Bhd marketing manager), Carly Voon (Mrs Malaysia Universe 2016), Stella Lim (Business Style Int’l Networking co-founder), Dato’ Dr Jacky Chee (Asia Success Inc. Branding Magazine president & branding director), Maggie Loo (Miss Malaysia Universe 1973), Datin Carol Siew (Mrs Malaysia Planet 2017), KL Ho (The Mod House founder), Evelyn Lim (Mrs SEA Globe 2013), Dr May Heong (Mrs Malaysia Petite World 2015 Beauty Ambassador), Ammetta Kaur Malhotra (Mrs Malaysia Planet 2019 Fitness Ambassador), Audris Kok (Mrs Malaysia Universe 2018 Global Ambassador) and Cindy Ng (Mrs Elite Malaysia Universe 2018).

The event is organised by Yinzi Event & Marketing. ERM Marketing Sdn Bhd is the franchise holder of Miss & Mrs Malaysia Planet.

For the first time, Brenie Sea won any champion crown at beauty pageants.

“I felt awesome. I’ve worked hard to be my best self and focussed on my strength,” she said after her win.

Brenie first competed in Miss Orient International Malaysia in 2017 and won fifth-place finish. She not only made many new friends but also learnt a lot of things which boosted her self-confidence to take her to the next level.

Standing 165cm (5’ 5”) tall, Brenie said she will do her part to help save the planet focussing on 3 Rs – reduce, reuse and recycle method.

“I’m all for protecting cleaner environment. We need to keep our planet clean and healthy as an unclean environment can lead to polluted air and cause many diseases. One way is using reusable, environmentally friendly glass bottles, we can help reduce large amount of unnecessary waste,” she said.

Yinzi Event & Marketing director Madam Lim Siew Cheng said both pageants Miss & Mrs Malaysia Planet and Mrs Malaysia Petite World were about women empowerment.  

“The planet we live today is facing numerous problems and challenges. Humans are destroying nature, wild habitat and even fought one another in the name of war. We need to fix it by bringing awareness, joy and care to our planet. One way to do it is bringing beauty through our Miss and Mrs Malaysia Planet and let the beauty speaks for the planet. Our planet will have a voice that is well represented by the beauty queens,” she said.

“We also hope women have the courage and confidence to stand up for themselves. By providing the platform for Mrs Malaysia Petite World, women can feel a sense of inclusiveness or belonging that petite women also deserve a chance to live their dreams,” she added.

Miss & Mrs Malaysia Planet franchise holder Sean Chia said the pageant provided opportunity to contestants to showcase their spirit and contribution of protecting the ecology and environment in Malaysia to the rest of the world.
