Lions Shanghai charity dinner

JOHOR BAHRU – The Lions Club of Johor Bahru organised a charity dinner recently themed Shanghai Night to raise funds for the club’s community projects. Approximately RM 50,000 was collected during this event. [VIDEO]

The Lions Club of Johor Bahru organised a charity dinner recently themed, ‘Shanghai Night’ to raise funds for the club’s community projects. About RM 50,000 was collected during this event.

35 members of the Johor Bahru Choir group performed under the guidance of choir conductor cum vocalist, Wai Yin Ching, 63, from Hong Kong who has been living in Malaysia for 35 years. The Johor Bahru Choir group was inaugurated 15 years ago by her late husband, Tan Hooi Song.

Ho Ta Chin, 79, is the oldest singer in the choir said he loves singing and has sung for over 60 years.

The organizing chairperson Millie Tan said that the Lions Club of Johor Bahru Metro contributed RM5,000 to the JB Lions Renal Care Foundation.

The guest of honor was former district governor Yeow Wah Chin.
