Public urged to donate blood during festive season

The National Blood Centre calls on the public, especially those with type A blood, to donate blood to replenish supply during the Christmas celebration and school holiday this month.

According to a NBC statement, the centre requires around 400 to 500 units of blood during the festive season to meet demand in Klang Valley hospitals for treating cases such as organ transplants, thalassemia, dengue haemorraghic fever and others.

The centre would be open on Dec 26 (a public holiday) from 8am to 4pm, and every Saturday from 7.30am to 4pm.

Besides this, the centre also would extend its operation hours to 8pm every Thursday and Friday.
