Chua Jui Meng: PKR promises media freedom

About 150 members of the Chinese Malaysian community attended a Party Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) “Ceramah isu semasa” held Taman Seroja, Parit Jawa today.

Parit Jawa, is a small town which has been in existence for over 120 years and is located close to the shores of the Straits of Malacca and is pproximately 11 kilometers from Muar Bandar Di Raja.

Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) vice president Tian Chua ,Selangor PKR information chief Tan Yee Kew and PKR vice president Chua Jui Meng were among the PKR speakers who spoke in Mandrin at the gathering.

In an exclusive interview with Citizen Journalists Malaysia (CJMY), Chua spoke on issues regarding violence against journalist and other issues related to the Muar Indian community.

He responded that violence against journalists are repugnant.

When asked to comment on recent attacks on journalists, he went on to say that “PKR feels that to attack journalists is a violation of media freedom which is held in high disregard by every country with a functioning democracy.

In calling all journalists to come together to spur change, Chua said “on our part we have already promised press freedom”.
