Agong opens new RM15.3 million mosque for UTEM

The Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin performed the Friday prayer at the Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka’s (UTeM) new Sayyidina Abu Bakar Mosque after opening it today.

The Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin performed the Friday prayer at the Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka’s (UTeM) new Sayyidina Abu Bakar Mosque after opening it today.

Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin, accompanied by Deputy Home Minister Abu Seman Yusof, was greeted on arrival by Melaka Chief Minister Mohd Ali Rustam and the Melaka Yang Dipertua Negeri Mohd Khalil Yaakub, who is also the university’s Chancellor, and UTeM vice-chancellor Prof Dr Ahmad Yusoff Hassan.

Also present were Melaka State Assembly Speaker Othman Muhamad and State Secretary Omar Kaseh.

The mosque, which can accommodate 4,000 people, cost RM15.3 million.
