PETALING JAYA – The 1Malaysia PJ Service Team has sprung into action by actively engaging the local community to assist eligible residents with the application for BR1M 2.0 cash aid.

Since the launch on November 23, 2012 the 1Malaysia PJ Service Team wasted no time and sprung into action by actively engaging the local community to assist eligible residents with the application for Bantuan Rakyat 1Malaysia (BR1M 2.0) cash aid at the seven service centres located in the city.

The 1Malaysia PJ Service Team also has three mobile unit teams which has been going around public places like markets, pasar malams and parks to provide assistance.

To date the mobile service team has collectively helped register 3,200 people in filling up the BR1M forms from over 30 sessions since the registration for BR1M 2.0 started on Nov 1.

Households earning less than RM3,000 per month are eligible to receive the BR1M 2.0 cash aid and they will be getting their money from the government in January next year.

“We have received very good response from the public who had earlier missed out the opportunity to benefit from the government aid in the first BR1M,” said Tee Kee Tian, a member of the team.

“After seeing their friends who had successfully received the first BR1M cash payout, they have now turned to us for help to fill the forms,” added Tee.

Another team member Chew Hoong Ling said: “We conduct basic health screenings such as blood pressure and glucose tests at our weekly services but ever since BR1M 2.0 registration started, we have been getting requests from people to help them fill the forms for BR1M 2.0″
