MPSJ to reward ‘patriotic’ citizens

The Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) is inviting the members of public to celebrate the Merdeka spirit by flying the Jalur Gemilang at any premise and to stand a chance to win attractive prizes.

The Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) is inviting the members of public to celebrate the Merdeka spirit by flying a Jalur Gemilang at any premise and to stand a chance to win attractive prizes.

The annual Jom Kibar campaign, which is held from August 1 to September 16 will give lucky folks a chance to win a 42″ LCD television, iPads, DSLR cameras and netbooks through the campaign.

The flag must be at least 2′ × 4′ or 2′ × 6′ and displayed on residential or commercial buildings. Contestants must register themselves through short-message service (SMS) by typing Jomkibar<space>name<*>address and send it to 39111.

MPSJ officials will conduct surprise visits to the contestant’s premise throughout the period to ensure flag displayed is in good shape.

MPSJ emerges top in Clean Zone competition

In other news, the local council was crowned champion for the second consecutive year in the state government’s Clean Zone competition.

Council president Asmawi Kasbi received the trophy from Selangor Menteri Besar Khalid Ibrahim at the award ceremony in Petaling Jaya over the weekend.

MPSJ also bagged the “Best Community Involvement” and “Best Cleanliness Zone” awards, making it the top winner of the night.
