In a 4am incident yesterday, a male tuition teacher was brutally assaulted by six unknown men at a playground in Taman Gemilang, Kulai.

The 21-year-old victim, Ng Qi Kiat, sustained severe head injuries and is warded at the Temenggong Seri Maharaja Tun Ibrahim hospital here.

According to the victim’s father, Ng Yok Hau, 50, his son received a telephone call at around 3am from his friend who said he needed help.

“My son is known to have some spiritual power that can ward off any evil spirits,” he claimed.

He added that his son’s friend, who had called to ask for help, said that there was someone possessed.

“The friend asked my son to meet him at the playground, to which my son went alone without any hesitation.

“On arrival at the playground, my son was suddenly attacked by six unknown men armed with sticks.

“My son said he did not recognise any of the assailants and doesn’t have the faintest idea why he was assaulted,” said the victim’s father.

He was speaking to reporters, relating what his son has told him from the hospital bed.

Meanwhile, Kulai district police chief, Zulkefly Yahya, said the case is being  investigated under Section 148 of the Penal Code.
