To be spearheaded by Plus Asia Jaya Sdn Bhd, the 20.23 ha project involves the construction of a five-star hotel and chalets as well as condominiums and a marina.

Plus Asia Jaya chief executive officer, Loi Kong Yaw, said the RM120 million project would take off in August and was scheduled for completion in two and a half years.

“We hope to start operations one year earlier,” he told reporters after attending the launch of the tourism development project by the Sultan of Pahang, Sultan Ahmad Shah.

Loi said the island would be developed in an environment-friendly manner, with an eye on preserving local flora and fauna.
