The State Immigration Department of Sabah detained 24 foreigners in a raid on an entertainment outlet in Bandar Sri Perdana, last night, for violation of immigration laws.
Sabah Immigration director Mohammad Mentek said they comprised 15 women, seven of which were Filipinos, four Chinese, three Vietnamese and one Cambodian.
Nine foreign men, seven Filipinos and two Indonesians were also nabbed in the operation. They were detained under Section 6(3) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 for failure to produce identification documents.
The 9pm raid dubbed “Ops Sayang” involved 21 Immigration personnel and was headed by Lahad Datu Immigration chief Dzul Azwie Nawawi.
