Beauty Queens Raise RM8,000 for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

PETALING JAYA – The international finalists of Miss Cosmopolitan World 2015 helped to raise RM8,000 for Breast Cancer Welfare Association Malaysia (BCWA) at a high tea charity.

The international finalists of Miss Cosmopolitan World 2015 helped to raise RM8,000 for Breast Cancer Welfare Association Malaysia (BCWA) at a high tea charity at Atria Shopping Gallery, Damansara Jaya, Petaling Jaya on Sept 27 in conjunction with Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.

Guests came for a worthy cause while they enjoyed good company with the beauty queens from all over the world where the aim was to support breast cancer awareness.

Fund was raised through ticket sales, auction items and donations.

The pageant finalists and guests had the opportunity to learn how to do a self breast examination for any lumps which potentially could be early signs of cancer.

Breast cancer survivor Chong Chu San, who has battled breast cancer and is now cancer free, was present to support the event and to share her experience with guests while BCWA Malaysia nurse Sister Mariyana showed the proper way to do self breast examination.

BCWA Malaysia general manager Lai Ngan Yin thanked everyone present for their unwavering support of the charity which she hoped will create awareness of breast cancer to the public.

Miss Cosmopolitan World founder and organiser Amelia Liew said she was proud of her beauty queens supporting this very worthwhile charity.

BCWA Malaysia  is the official welfare organization for Miss Cosmopolitan World 2015 pageant.

The inaugural Miss Cosmopolitan World 2015 grand finals will be held at Hotel Istana on October 9. A total of 18 international finalists from all parts of the world will vie for the title and crown of the first Miss Cosmopolitan World 2015.

22-year-old event manager Kohinoor Kaur from Kota Kinabalu, Sabah is Malaysia’s delegate to the grand final this year.
