Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) plans to extend the broadcast time of AsyikFM, the Orang Asli community radio service, to 24 hours with the anticipated implementation of digital broadcast in 2015, Deputy Information Communication and Culture Minister Maglin Dennis D’Cruz said today.

He said the AsyikFM broadcast could be received in almost all the Orang Asli settlements in Perak, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, Johor, Pahang and Kelantan.

“In a move to enhance coverage and reception, particularly for listeners in Johor, AsyikFM is being broadcast on FM95.6Mhz from Jan 22. The service is also available on RTM’s online radio,” he said when replying to a question from Senator Muhammad Olian Abdullah in the Dewan Negara.
