Users of traditional health products ‘JCare-su’ and ‘JCare-in’ have been ordered to stop immediately as they contain glibenclamide, a scheduled poison.
Health Ministry director-general Dr Hasan Abdul Rahman said the registration of ‘JCare-su’ and ‘JCare-in’ had been cancelled by the Drug Control Agency at its 237th meeting following detection of the scheduled poison, glibenclamide. He said in a statement that glibenclamide is used in the treatment of diabetes and not classified as traditional medicine.
