The Customs Department will meet forwarding agents to resolve the recent delay in processing of K1 forms, which is the Customs’ goods declaration form.
Some 100 forwarding agents today demonstrated in front of Wisma Kastam in Port Klang to protest the department’s decision to change the K1 processing system, that has resulted in delays.
Selangor Customs Enforcement deputy director, Mohd Pudzi Man, said the issue raised by the agents would be resolved.
“What I was made to understand is that the agents were unhappy with the delay in the processing of K1 forms. However, the process remains the same; the delay is due to a thorough inspection of the forms,” he said.
Mohd Pudzi said though the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) was investigating a number of Customs officers, the processing of forms would go on as usual.
