Creative Young Entrepreneur Award open to public

Call for nominations for the 2011 Junior Chamber International (JCI) Creative Young Entrepreneur Award (CYEA).

State Industrial Development Minister Raymond Tan Shu Kiah has called for more nominations from amongst young entrepreneurs, for this year’s Junior Chamber International Malaysia (JCI)-Creative Young Entrepreneur Award (CYEA).

Nominations are now open for this year’s CYEA.

“The CYEA is not only for JCI members. It is also open to the public,” he said while launching the JCI CYEA 2011 nomination for Sabah, here today.

This year’s competition is co-organised by JCI Petaling Jaya and JCI Tanjung Aru.

Tan noted that Malaysia has a pool of young entrepreneurs, particularly those involved in small-medium enterprises (SMEs).

“Their contribution is by no means small as SMEs have contributed significantly to the nation’s income,” he said, while urging for more nominations from these entrepreneurs.

Meanwhile, organising chairman Stewart Lee said the award is designed to reward, honour and recognise outstanding young entrepreneurs, between the ages of 18 and 40.

“Nomination forms can be obtained online at www.jcicyea.com.my,” he added.

The three finalists at the national level will represent Malaysia for the world award at the JCI World Congress in Brussels, Belgium in November.
