Police are investigating a shooting incident at Mount Erskine, Tanjung Bungah after unknown assailants fired anumber of shots at a row of terrace houses and cars.
North-east district police chief, ACP Gan Kong Meng said during the 3am incident, residents were rudely awakened by a number of shots fired at their houses and cars parked along the roads, by unknown assailants.
“Police found a number of spent bullets at the scene, believed to be bullets that had pierced through cars parked near the houses,” he told reporters at the state level Police Day celebrations here today.
Police also found spent 9mm casings that belonged to automatic pistols. However, there were no casualties during the incident but the residents lodged a police report, he said. Gan said the incident was the first of its kind in the area and that police would carry out investigations from all aspects to determine the motive for the shooting.
