Health Ministry contracts out TV channel for hospitals

Health Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai today launched a television channel to enable the ministry disseminate information on health at hospitals and its agencies.

Health Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai today launched a television channel to enable the ministry disseminate information on health at hospitals and its agencies.

“MedikTV”, which was launched at Putrajaya Hospital today, would be made available at 168 government hospitals and agencies nationwide to channel official news from the ministry, he said.

He said the programmes would enhance the people’s knowledge and understanding of matters pertaining to health.

“This electronic media will broadcast various health programmes, awareness campaigns and the ministry’s promotions on current issues,” he said at the launch.

Liow said MedikTV was a collaboration between the ministry and Medic Channel (M) Sdn Bhd, with the company handling the cost of installation and maintenance of the TV channel.
