‘Share A Little Comfort’ to improve lives of children

KUALA LUMPUR – Share A Little Comfort CSR campaign, a Drypers Malaysia’s initiative to create comfortable living spaces for underprivileged children has returned this year

The Share A Little Comfort CSR campaign, a Drypers Malaysia’s initiative to create comfortable living spaces for underprivileged children has returned this year. Last year the program transformed orphanages into more comfortable homes for the children with the help of Drypers Baby Club members. This year the campaign is extending beyond the capital borders with two of the homes located in states further afield.

Drypers identified four orphanages that are in dire need of a makeover, two of which are located outside of the Klang Valley. Drypers kicked off the CSR activities with the renovation of the first home in Chemor, Perak on April 22, in conjunction with Volunteer Recognition Day. Vinda Group associates, parents and trade professionals joined hands in upgrading Yayasan Amanah An-Nur Maisarah, an NGO set up in 2006 to provide boarding facilities and education to boys between the ages of 1 and 17 years.

Various enhancements were made to the orphanage, which currently serves as home to 53 children. These improvements included repairs to the ceiling and doors, replacing fans and electrical appliances, giving the home a fresh coat of paint and providing new bedding. Drypers has again collaborated with Akemi, Favorita and Khind as partners in this year-long CSR initiative.

Drypers Baby Club members are encouraged to donate some of their rewards points (collected through purchase of Drypers products) in amounts of 100, 300 or 500 via their online accounts. All go towards Drypers’ 1 million-point goal – the equivalent of RM100,000, and each contribution will be matched by Drypers.

“Our goal is to revamp these home environments so that they are pleasant and conducive spaces where these children can experience the comfort and care they deserve. Share A Little Comfort engages parents, many of whom who would love to help better the lives of children less fortunate than their own but just don’t know how to go about doing so. They can choose to provide an in-kind donation with their Drypers Baby Club Points or even physically lend a hand in the renovations – either way; they would be making a significant contribution,” said Ms. Evelyn Chan, Marketing Director at Vinda Group (South East Asia), which manages the Drypers brand.
