Two suspected drug peddlers nabbed

Two suspected drug peddlers whom believed to be targeting young drug users in the district has been nabbed in a raid by the Kluang district’s police narcotic branch. Both suspect, then led the officers to another location, where the police found another large stash of drugs.

 

Police officers from the Kluang district’s narcotic branch  had arrested 2 local male suspects on drug peddling charge in two follow-up raids.

Police said that the two suspects have been known to target young drug users in the district.

Kluang OCPD, Mohd Fawzi Arshad said that in the first raid at 3.30pm, a 29 years old male was apprehended as he tried to escape from the police dragnet.

Police found two luminous plastic packages said to contain illicit drugs on the suspect. One package was said to contain 16.78 gm of heroin and another package contained 1.5 gm of syabu.

Mohd Fawzi said that the suspect had previous record of drug related offences.

Further investigation led police to conduct another follow-up raid and arrested another 36 years old suspect in Felda Kahang Timur at about 9.30am yesterday.

The suspect was caught with 15.85 gm of heroin. Both the suspects have been remanded for further questioning. Mohd Fawzi was speaking to reporters at his office here, yesterday.

He added that the case will be investigated under Section 39(B) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 and if convicted, both will face the mandatory death sentence.
