The residents of Kampung Rumah 10 Plentong have been waiting for their land title for almost thirty years and they are fuming with the delay.
Local UMNO branch chairperson, Abu Bakar Alibi alleged that the Mentri Besar of Johor has promised that land titles will be given to them on several occasions since 1999 but to no avail.
Abu Bakar spoke raised this issue at the UMNO annual branch meeting which was also attended by Pasir Gudang MP, Khalid Nordin’s representative Rohazam Shah Ahmad.
Abu Bakar said that if the land titles issue is not resolved before the next general election, the residents of Kampung Rumah 10 Plentong including himself will leave the party and join the opposition.
“We are all disappointed with the sweet promises made to us” he said.
“We hope this will not happen as we want our rights and land applications to be accorded proper attention and not just be given empty promises,” added Abu Bakar who is clearly disappointed with the sweet promises made to him and the residents.
Following this the Kampung Rumah 10 Plentong UMNO branch challenged the Rohazam, who is also the Pasir Gudang UMNO youth chairperson to help resolve this land titles issue.
Rohazam accepted the challenge and said he will go all out to assist the residents. He also said that he will be meeting the Johor MB on this matter and if the issue is not resolve by the next general election, he too will resign from the party and join the opposition.
